Polish-German European Meetings. Kashubian Culture Centre
Foundation was established as a result of an agreement between
the Krokowa County and the von Krakow's family, which at present
lives in Germany.
The
foundation was established on 12th October 1990. One of the
first actions taken by this organization was to rebuild
the former residence of von Krakow's family, the Castle in
Krokowa. Most of the works were done thanks to the help of
the Polish - German Cooperation Foundation, and changed the
neglected walls and park, which are one of the best examples
of the positive results of the international cooperation.
Everyone who admired the romantic park, tasted the delicious
dishes at the Castle Restaurant, listened to one of the concerts
organized in the ball room or rested in this historical but
cozy and home like place will surely support the foundators'
decision.
The Foundation does its best to satisfy its clients, attract
the local community to visit the Park and the Castle and
to present an attractive tourist offer, which would promote
the
Krokowa County.
Tourists can visit the park and the ground floor of the Castle,
where a valuable and historic archive of the von Krakow's
family is located. It is free of charge.
For interested tourists the Regional Museum organizes guided
tours around the park and the Castle, which are very popular.
The museum itself was established in 1999 and is the only
Polish - German museum.
The Foundation and the museum are the proves that the conciliation
and agreement between Polish and German nations is possible.
They fulfill the visions of the international cooperation,
both the official and the social ones, and create the part
of the modern reality which was meant by the foundators and
the well-wishers. Being the centre of the European meetings,
the Castle and the park are the places where different cultures
can mingle. Everyone who wishes to discover the essence of
the Foundation is most welcome at the Castle.
